Wrist Injury
Wrist Hyperextension
- Usually from landing on outstretched arm from falling
- Rule out radius/ulna fracture, navicular (scaphoid) fracture and lunate dislocation
Taping for Wrist Hyperextension
- Position wrist in the proper amount of flexion
- Apply J-Wrap and anchors on wrist and mid hand
- Measure the distance between the anchors
- Make a fan with 3-5 strips of tape
- Apply fan to wrist and anchor
- Reposition wrist if necessary and apply fan to hand and anchor
